It is the last Friday of January, and you know what that means. It means it’s time to make a NEW BLOG.
The Recap Zone exists as a science fiction/fantasy television episodic recap website, sharing content posted elsewhere and maybe some of its own. The point of the episodic recap is for a singular author to recap plots/characters/whatevers of one (or several) tv episodes, and then for multiple commenters to supply their thoughts on what they did / did not enjoy about the episode(s) and the recap.
It should be assumed that any information revealed in that episode is up for discussion in the recap and in the comments.
For currently airing or recently (within the past year) shows: It should not be assumed that any information revealed in subsequent episodes is up for discussion. If this is an article about Jessica Jones Season 1, Episode 10, do not write about developments in Season 1, Episodes 11-13.
For shows that aired more than a year ago: The same policy is in effect. Not everyone watches tv at the same rate. Don’t be a jerk.
Include episode #s in headlines: Was it the sixteenth episode of season 4 of the show? Cool. Just say that in the headline. Use abbreviated text there if you want to, e.g. S04E16
Do not include spoilers in headlines or in the opening paragraph or opening image: Don’t be like that.
In general, don’t be a jerk and you will do fine here. If more specific statements are needed, they’ll show up.
As of right now, The Recap Zone has aggregated content from a few different authors. As soon as TRZ can figure out how, it would like to extend Author (and/or Admin) privileges to people whose work is shared here, so they can share recaps here. If those Authors wish to post original content here also, that’s great too.
The only wrinkle in this plan is that I continue (several hours later) to not know how in the seven hells to add authors to the blogs. I’m not seeing the “Add member” field that this guide or this guide refers to, so, that’s exciting.
The Recap Zone can be found on Twitter, because that’s the main place where Gawker Media Group news happens.
